Yvonne M. (Gladfelter) Ness

York—Yvonne M. (Gladfelter) Ness, 85, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her residence in W. Manchester Township. She was the wife of the late Austin M. Ness to whom she was married for 62 years A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Beth A. Schlegel officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus. Mrs. Ness was born March 7, 1923 in York, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Gertie V. (Glatfelter) Gladfelter. She was employed with Jomax as a seamstress for several years until her retirement. A member of Christ Lutheran Church in York, she also enjoyed reading and word puzzles. However her life centered on her family and she cherished every moment spent with them. Mrs. Ness is survived by four daughters, Bonnie M. Karlip and husband Herb of Lancaster, Sandra J. Fogle and husband Dave of West Linn, OR, Terry L. Koontz and husband Steve of New Cumberland, and Kathy S. Gotwalt and husband Tony of Dover, son-in-law, Dave Eveler of Goshen, IN, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one very special nephew, Gary Gladfelter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole A. Eveler and three brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice Services 218 E.
