Yvonne E. Myers

RED LION--Yvonne Elaine Myers, 84, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 14th at Hospice & Community Care in Mt Joy, PA. She was born August 17, 1935 in Cly, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Ethel (Helwig) Reeser. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother all of her life; she also worked alongside John in their income tax business for 30 years. She always enjoyed the people more than the work and considered her patrons more like friends than clients. She was active in the ministries of Bridgeway Community Church and taught a women’s Sunday School class for 26 years. The ladies in her class dearly loved and admired Yvonne and her teaching of God’s Word. She had a passion for gardening and planting flowers; there was always something blooming around the family pool. Some of Yvonne’s favorite pastimes were attending Penn State football games and traveling, most notably to Israel (her lifelong dream), Alaska, Penn State bowl games and several Caribbean cruises with her children and grandchildren. Yvonne will be remembered most for her infectious smile, her laughter, her love for family and friends, and her enjoyment of life. To know her was to love her. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John Myers, her children, Eric (Garnet) Myers of Red Lion, Brian Myers of York, Wendy (Randy) Helm of Caledonia, Michigan, and Carl Myers of York, as well as her 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, brothers, Donnie (Harriet) Reeser, Harold (Carleen) Reeser, Larry (Elaine) Reeser, Gale (Deb) Reeser, Wayne (Carol) Reeser and sister, Barbara (Charlie) Bubb. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Myers, sisters Linda Lady and Rosalee Reeser and brother, Robert Reeser, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19th from 6-8pm at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, as well as Wednesday, November 20th from 10-11am at Bridgeway Community Church, 255 Reynolds Mill Road, York, with a celebration of life immediately following at 11am. Officiating the service will be her pastor, Dave MacKenzie. Burial will follow at East Berlin Union Cemetery.
