York—Wilton E. Crawford, 89, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Brethren Home at Cross Keys Village. He was the husband of Sara E. (Schroll) Crawford, to whom he was married for 67 years. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA, with Pastor Douglas M. Miller of West York Church of the Brethren officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Chanceford Township. Mr. Crawford was born February 20, 1919 in Laurel, a son of the late Walter O. and Clara M. (Keeport) Crawford. He had a dedicated career in construction of 45 years as a carpenter/supervisor and retired in 1984. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Italy. In addition to his wife, Mr. Crawford is also survived by two sons, Rodney Crawford of Hanover and Barry Crawford of Marshallville, OH, two grandsons, Christopher and Daniel Crawford, one brother, Maholn Crawford of York, one sister, Doris Parsels of Gettysburg and nieces and nephews.
