YORK NEW SALEM--Wilmer Jay Miller entered into eternal rest on February 9, 2021. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Black) Miller to whom he was married for 66 years. Wilmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A public Viewing will be held from 11AM-1PM, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. All current Covid-19 guidelines and capacity restrictions will be followed. A public Graveside Service will be held following the viewing at St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery—York New Salem and will also be livestreamed on our Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., Facebook page at www.facebook.com/heffnertributes/live for anyone unable to attended in person. Born in York on February 25, 1935 he was the son of the late Oscar N. and Charlotte Louise (Free) Miller. Wilmer was the owner of Wilmer Miller's Garage and Wilmer Miller Mini Storage for many years. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons—York Lodge #266, Tall Cedars of Lebanon—York Forest #30 and St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Organization and a lifetime member of the York County Garagemen's Association. Wilmer lived a full and active life. He loved snowmobiling and enjoyed riding locally and taking yearly trips to Quebec. An avid hunter, he hunted in Pennsylvania and throughout the Western US. He attended the Indianapolis 500 race for over 20 years and liked watching the Baltimore Orioles and PGA Golf. He loved participating in York County Garagemen's Association events and the Father's Day Picnic was one of his favorites. Wilmer lived for his family and was always present at their gatherings. He loved feasting and everybody knew it! He addition to his wife, Mr. Miller is also survived by his daughter Keena Jay Miller, his Son-in-Law, Terrance Nicholas; his grandchildren Vance K. Study Jr., Karli J. Study, Andrew Nicholas and wife, Jessica, Courtney Ann (Nicholas) Taylor and her husband, Jason; his Great-Grandchildren, Junith Nicholas, Juliana Nicholas and Charlotte Ann Taylor. Another Great-Grandchild is expected in March. Wilmer was preceded in his passing by his daughter, Lois Louise (Miller) Nicholas, his brother, Leroy H. Miller; and his sister, Delores J. (Miller) Orendorff. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
