Wilmer A. "Willie" Crone,Ii

SPRING GROVE- Wilmer Aaron ”Willie” Crone, II, of North Codorus Township, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 9-10:30a.m. Full Military Honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service at the funeral home. The Reverend Fred Mummert will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Union Cemetery in Stoverstown. Willie was born in North Codorus Township on April 15, 1943, the son of the late Wilmer Aaron Crone, Sr. and Fannie Aretta (Smith) Crone. He worked as a butcher at Twin Pines, where he was still working on a part-time basis at the Twin Pines Country Store in York New Salem. Willie adopted a Wild Mustang horse, named Nevada. He trained the Horse with an Amish buggy and enjoyed attending various events. He took the horse and buggy to events at nursing homes, hospitals, parades, and day cares. He was a former member of the Chorus at Spring Grove High School. He enjoyed going to the band shell at Codorus State Park. He also adopted numerous dogs over the years and enjoyed boating and the outdoors. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Willie leaves two sisters, Reba H. Miller of West York and Trevadell Landis of Spring Grove as well as 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Portia Klinedinst. Because of Willie’s love for animals, he requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 or to a charity of choice.
