DALLASTOWN- Wilma Lee McCleary, 70, passed away at York Hospital Monday afternoon, October 2, 2008. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with her pastor, Rev. Robert A.Vizthum officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 9-10:00 am. Burial will be in Salem Community Cemetery, Lower Windsor. Wilma Lee was born March 10, 1938 in Martinsville, a daughter of the late Lester Andrew and Miriam Evelyn (Snyder) McCleary. She was a 1956 graduate of Dallastown High school and a 1960 graduate of Millersville College. Wilma still kept in touch with her friends from high school and still ran around with her college chums, the Millersville Gang. Wilma was a school teacher at Central York School District. She was a member at Pine Grove United Methodist Church for 5 years. She was a member of former Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a former leader of United Methodist Women. Wilma was also a member and former president of the Dallastown Business and Professional Women's Club, and a 4H leader. She volunteered her teaching skills at the York County Literacy Council. Wilma enjoyed crafts, needlework, read and collect dolls. Surviving Wilma are brother, Daryl J. McCleary and his wife Jean E. of Dallastown; two sisters, Donna M. Graybill and her husband David W. of York and Marlene A. Marchant and her husband the Rev. Lloyd D. of Dallastown; a sister in law, Diane K. McCleary of York two nephews; three nieces; three great nephews; and three great nieces. Preceding her are two brothers, Wayne and William McCleary. Memorial Contributions may be made to the York County Literacy Council, 800 E. King St., York, PA 17403.
