Willis H. Peterson

YORK- Willis H. Peterson (Pete) entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in Dover, PA. He was born on April 15, 1923 in Orbisonia, PA to Minnie Peterson, who preceded him in death. Pete lived in York for 60 years and was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy A. Azevedo, Manteca, CA and his son,Scott Peterson, Dover, PA. Pete also leaves behind his siblings, Verna M. Peterson, York, PA, Mary E. Keith (Ted), Rockhill Furnace, PA, Ross Peterson, (Joan), Three Springs, PA, Ronald Peterson (Betty), Orbisonia, PA, Arthur Peterson (Judy), Haines City, FL, Calvin Peterson (Velma, deceased), Tampa, FL and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his friend, Jane Haring. Pete was an Army veteran of the United States in WWII. He was a member of the Lions Club of York, PA as well as the American Legion. Pete worked hard his whole life and knew many secrets of how to fix almost anything. He loved to hunt and fish and was proficient at both. He also enjoyed playing golf and telling a few jokes. He was happiest being outside and enjoying the sunshine. Pete had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed and remembered fondly. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, PA 17404. Memorial Service will be on Friday, April 13, 2012, viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., service at 2:00 p.m. at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Rd., Orbisonia, PA 17243.
