William Thomas Haddad

William Thomas Haddad passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 94. Bill was the cherished husband of the departed Helen Frances Haddad, whose eternal love sustained him as he continued to keep their home in York as a haven for visits with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Born on January 23, 1924, William was the son of the late Sam and Phoebe (Eazor) Haddad. He graduated from Geneva College in 1948 after returning from proud service in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot during World War II. After a 31-year career, he retired as an executive from Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation and devoted his many remaining years to enjoying time with his wife and family, and to his favorite past-time, golf. William is survived by many loved ones who will miss him dearly, but who have been deeply touched and forever blessed by his wisdom, humor, faith, and unconditional love for them: his son Thomas J. Haddad and wife Maureen of Downingtown; his two daughters, Karen S. Capodici and husband Bernard of Doylestown, and Nancy H. Blevins and husband Kent of Stewartstown; his grandchildren, Alia Capodici, Joseph Haddad, Reina Guarini and husband Justin, David Haddad and wife Stephanie, Kira Hetherington and husband Patrick, Jason Blevins and wife Danielle, Natalie Blevins, Jeffrey Haddad, and Cara Haddad; and his great-grandchildren Lola Pastore, Madison Meanix, William Guarini, Asher Guarini, Phoebe Haddad, Hadley Capodici-Budd, Parker Haddad, Oliver Hetherington, and Lila Blevins. Bill also leaves behind his sister Wilma Slyman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and brother Dr. George Haddad and sister in-law Sue Haddad of New Brighton. In addition, “Uncle Bill” will be forever cherished by many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. William’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Rd., York, Pennsylvania 17402. A Celebration and memorial service will begin at 11:00. Friends and family are welcome. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
