William Nevin Trout

YORK- William Nevin Trout, 96, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 7:30PM surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Maude M. (McPherson) Trout. The couple were married for 52 years before Maude’s passing in 1998. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 31, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Dr. Timothy George officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM prior to the service. Burial will be in New Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 7, 1922 in Brogue, William was the son to the late Althea (Brown) Trout. He graduated from Red Lion High School, Class of 1940. Mr. Trout proudly served our country in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Army Transportation Corp. aboard the USS General W.A. Mann. The General W.A. Mann delivered troops to all areas of the world and his service extended for three years to February 1946, at which time, William was honorably discharged. William went on to work as a purchasing agent in several positions, the last being with AMP, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA, from which he retired after 15 years. Mr. Trout is survived by his three children, Kira M. Semler and her husband Jochen of Ridgewood, NJ, William G. Trout and his wife Kathy of Brogue, PA, and David A. Trout and his wife ThuHang of Lancaster, PA; four grandchildren, Edward Semler, Albert Semler, Jennifer Miller, and April Tsogas, two step grandchildren, Christina Buu and Amy Buu-Keller, and a great granddaughter, Kiersten Miller. In addition to his wife and mother, William was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Brown. To honor William’s memory, contributions may be made to Caring Hospice Services, 101 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603, New Harmony Presbyterian Church, 2295 Delta Rd., Brogue, PA 17309, or the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
