William M. Stringer, Sr.

LOWER WINDSOR TOWNSHIP- William M. Stringer, Sr., 69, of York, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Marjorie K. (Kneller) Stringer. A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. John's (Blymire's) United Church of Christ, 1009 S. Blymire Rd. in Dallastown, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Stringer was born in Fisherville on July 28, 1938, a son of the late Francis J. and Catherine A. (Reid) Stringer. He was retired as the Union Representative for United Paperworkers International in the York and Hanover area. Mr. Stringer was a member of St. John's (Blymire's) U.C.C. in Dallastown, where he was a member of the Men's group. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Stringer leaves a son, Steven Stringer, two daughters: Catherine Stringer of Elkin, NC and Lisa Crawford of Morgantown, three step daughters: Teckla Tome of Yoe, Shannon Biser of York and Toni Danley of Windsor, 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters: Anne McComkey and Ellen Sellec, both of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. The family asks, that at Bill's request, there be no flowers or donations made in his name.
