WATSONTOWN - William M. “Bill” Campbell, III, 59, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born in New Kensington, PA on August 09, 1956 and was the son of William M. and Mercedes (Meisner) Campbell, Jr who survive. On June 25, 1977, William married the former Donna L. (Meinke) who survives and they have been married for 38 years. Bill served his country in the United States Army from 1974-1980. When he was honorably discharged he had earned the rank of Sergeant. He also earned two Army Accommodation medals, one of which was for valor for saving the lives of two people in a burning vehicle. He graduated from Valley High School, New Kensington, PA Class of 1974 then attended York College of Pennsylvania and earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice Class of 1983. After college, Bill made a career working in the prison systems, he worked for 23 years at the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary and the Allenwood Complex for the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Case Manager Coordinator. He then went on and retired as the Warden at Columbia County Prison in 2016 after working there for 9 years. Bill attended the Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton, PA. He enjoyed watching the Steelers and Penn State football games, cooking for large groups of people and family dinners. He loved taking family vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC with the Keiser crew. Most of all, Bill had many special memories of watching his children growing up and being able to attend their soccer and basketball games. Bill loved his family. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill is survived by one son and his fiancé; William M. “Max” Campbell, IV and Danielle Furnari both of Danville, one daughter; Mariah B. Campbell of Watsontown, four brothers and three sisters-in-law; Robert and Diana Campbell of Butler,PA, Jeffery Campbell of Sarver, PA, Todd and Angela of Lower Burrell, PA and Frank and Shelley of New Kensington, one sister-in-law; Patricia VanKirk of Trinity, NC and one brother-in-law and his wife; Randy and Joan Meinke of Marysville, PA along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 63 N. Progress Ave., WIlkes-Barre, PA 18701 or to the United Dialysis Foundation, 46 Villa Rosa Lane, Temple, Georgia 30179. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Davis Chapel at the Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847 with Pastor Erik Ireland officiating. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
