ETTERS - William L. Spangler, 80, died on Monday May 7, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Camp Hill. He was the husband of the late Ella Mae (Weidman) Spangler, who died May 6, 2004. The couple wed on August 22, 1977. A celebration of life tribute service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Beaver –Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry with the Reverend James E. Winter, Sr. officiating. A viewing will be from 6-7:30 p.m. prior to the service. Born on September 7, 1931, William was the son of the late Emma Verdi (Spangler) Slagle. Mr. Spangler attended William Penn High School. He worked as a truck driver for Ward Trucking and later Penske until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Spangler was a member of Yocumtown Church of God. He was an avid dancer and bowler and was a member of the 300 Club. William was also a member of the Breakfast Club and was once The Smile Champion of Harrisburg. Mr. Spangler is survived by four sons, William L. Spangler, Jr., Donald Keppley and his wife, Donna of Sinking Springs, Harold Keppley and his wife, Jean of South Carolina, and Edwin Keppley of Harrisburg; a daughter, Linda Fitterling, and her husband, Chris of Stevens; three granddaughters, Jessica, Lisa and Sherry; two great grandchildren, Shawn and Zoe; two brothers, Jessie Slagle and John Stouffer; and four sisters, Patricia Odem of Harrisburg, Mary Fry, Peggy Horton and Connie Slagle. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Brandon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yocumtown Church of God, 160 Red Mill Rd., Etters, PA 17319.
