William J. Serota

WILKES-BARRE-William Joseph Serota, 48, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 30, 1961 to the late Rosalie Serota. He was raised by his grandfather, Alfred S. Serota. He was an avid Red Sox fan and loved the Beatles. William is survived by his loving wife Laurelle, having celebrated their 25th anniversary on June 8, 2009. He worked at Sallie Mae till 2003. In addition he leaves behind four children, Jonathan, Wilkes-Barre; Tyler, Wilkes-Barre; Bethany, New Jersey; and Kaitlyn, Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, Davonte and Elijah; a brother, Barry, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church of Plymouth, 39 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth, on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11am with Kevin Mansfield, Pastor, officiating. Internment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. A viewing will be held at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday from 7:00 -9:00pm. There will be a viewing Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the church.
