William J. Huff

MONTOURSVILLE - William J. "Bill" Huff, 81, formerly of New Columbia, died on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. William was born on July 2, 1927 in New Columbia, and was a son of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Dietrick) Huff. He had served with the US Navy during WWII. He was married to the former June P. (LeFever) who survives and resides in Montoursville. William had retired from the Pickelner Heating and Oil Company and was a part owner of the Orso & Huff Window Cleaning Company. He was a member of the Oriole United Methodist Church, Pine Stump Hunting and Gun Club and former member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fixing motors, doing home jobs and enjoyed the outdoors. In addition to his wife, June, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; William S. and Laurie Huff of Cogan Station and Jeffery M. "Jeff" and Becky Huff of Trout Run, two daughters and one son-in-law; Holly P. and Ernie Keiser of Montoursville and Betsy R. Huff of Montoursville, five grandchildren; Brian Barto of Danville, Erin Bennett of Montoursville, Joshua Huff of Minnesota, Samuel Huff of Trout Run and Benjamin Huff of Cogan Station, two great-grandchildren; Kenna Bennett and Deegan Huff and one brother and sister-in-law; Merlin and Carol Huff of Winchester, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Harold Huff and one sister; Pauline Hastings. There will be a public visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor James Weibley will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, New Columbia with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
