William J. Bond

WILKES-BARRE - William J. Bond, 94, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday at Valley Crest Nursing Home. Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 15, 1914, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bond. He was a graduate of Meyers High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to retiring, Mr. Bond was employed by the railroad. His wife, the former Marion Elizabeth Allen, passed away January 4, 2007. The funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main St., Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Douglas Posegate, pastor of Firwood United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
