William H. Klinedinst

YORK- William H. Klinedinst, 86, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Furst) Klinedinst, who passed away on February 9, 2011. The couple had been married for 64 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Pastor Leon Denlinger officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Klinedinst was born on November 30, 1925 in York, a son of the late William H. and Mabel I. (Copenheaver) Klinedinst. He worked as an Electrician for Graham Engineering until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Klinedinst served our country for over two years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post # 799 and the Hammond Organ Society. William also was an Amateur Radio Operator, License K3AAA. He was a handyman, enjoyed making quilts and cooking for his family and friends. Mr. Klinedinst is survived by four sons, Paul W. Klinedinst and his wife, Dalea of Windsor, John E. Klinedinst and his wife, Marsha of Dover, David A. Klinedinst and his wife, Margaret of Bel Air, MD and Scott R. Klinedinst and his companion, Danielle Woodyard of York; two daughters, Jane E. Davis and her husband, Ed. P. of Masontown, W.V. and Carla M. Landis and her husband, Robin of Red Lion; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a number of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Boyd of Dallastown, Alice Myers and her husband, Richard of Spry and Avaleen Stauffer of York; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Terry Klinedinst and Paul W. Klinedinst, Jr.; three sisters, Brenda Poe, Mary Meckley and Williamteen Klinedinst; and a brother, Paul Klinedinst. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 E. King St., York, PA 17401
