William G. Chisholm, Jr.

DOVER- William G. Chisholm, Jr., 83 passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Dolores T. (Beverati) Chisholm. The couple had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 5. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with his pastor, Reverend Kevin E. Trout officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mr. Chisholm was born on January 6, 1927 in York, a son of the late William G. and Clara E. (Billet) Chisholm, Sr. William was a 1945 graduate of William Penn High School. Mr. Chisholm was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. He served our country in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. Mr. Chisholm loved horses. He owned many racehorses over the years. He was also an avid sports fan. He enjoyed working outdoors, especially mowing the lawn. Bill was a happy man and always had a smile on his face. Along with his wife, Dolores, William is survived by two daughters, Valerie Berke and her husband, Kent of Denver. CO and Victoria Chisholm of Birmingham, AL; one grandchild, Rachel Berke; two brothers, Eugene Chisholm and his wife, Johanna of York and Ronald Chisholm of Phoenix, MD; a brother-in-law, Albert Beverati and his wife, Joanne of Baltimore, MD; and many nieces and nephews and friends. Preceding him in death was a son, Stephen D. Chisholm; and a sister, Winifred Sellentine. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, Impact Center, 4190 Susquehanna Trail N., York, PA 17404.
