William Frank Mcdermott

Brogue- William Frank McDermott, 63, of Chanceford Township, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Joanne E. (Rexroth) McDermott. The couple celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 12- 1:30 p.m. and a Masonic Service at the start of the service by Fawn Grove Lodge F&AM. The Reverend Peter Beddia will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Brogue with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. The family invites attendee's of the service to dress casually Frank was born in Chanceford Township on November 1, 1947, a son of the late Frank W. and Hazel M. (Flaharty) McDermott. He worked for BAE Systems in Spring Grove, prior to that he worked for Harley Davidson and York International. Frank was a 1965 graduate of Red Lion High School. He was a member of Fawn Grove Lodge F&AM, Red Lion VFW and Red Lion American Legion, Collinsville Fish and Game, and Blue Grass Boys Hunting Camp in Potter County. He loved his family, hunting deer, bear, turkey, and fishing. He also enjoyed hunting ground hogs locally. He was a US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War in Germany. Frank leaves a son, Scott A. McDermott and his wife Jennifer of Brogue; a daughter, Crystal J. Ziegler and her husband Kyle of Windsor; a granddaughter, Hannah McDermott; and a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert McDermott. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wellspan VNA, 540 S. George Street, York, PA 17405, SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406, or Collinsville Fish and Game, 13996 Ted Wallace Rd., Brogue, PA 17309.
