YORK- William E. Imler, 76, died on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Delores J. (Patterson) Imler, who died on August 28, 2012. The couple had been married for over 38 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Born on January 26, 1937 in Hollidaysburg, he was a son of the late Eugene Imler and Anna (Arthur) Wolfe. William was a Mill Worker for Smurfit-Stone Container for over 28 years until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Imler was a member of the Vigilant Social Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, Liberty Social Club, American Legion and the West Manchester VFW Post #7374. William enjoyed golfing, playing pool and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Imler is survived by five children, Beverly A. Wertz and her husband, Robert E. of Mechanicsburg, Craig L. Imler and his wife, Tammy of York, Miki L. Rodgers of York, William E. Imler, Jr. and his wife, Lorraine of York and Stacy Imler of York; five grandchildren, Spencer, William, Alexis, Grayson and Quincy; five step grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Cindy, Emily and Chelsea; two brothers, James Imler and Chester Imler; three half brothers, Tom Imler, George Wolfe and Mike Imler; and one sister, Sharon Lawrence. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Imler. In lieu of flowers and in honor of his wife Delores, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
