William C. 'Bill' Miller

RED LION - William C. “Bill” Miller, 86, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Norma Jean (Shelley) Miller and the late Ruth (Ewell) Miller. The couple celebrated their 15th anniversary on July 4, 2013. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Miller was born in Lower Chanceford Township on June 8, 1927, the son of the late Albert J. and Bertha M. (Douglas) Miller. He retired from Pitman Manufacturing in York and then worked for Jerry’s Great Value in Red Lion and also worked as a parts delivery driver for Richman’s Auto Supply in Red Lion. Mr. Miller was a member of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, Red Lion American Legion, post 543, the former York Moose Lodge #148, Hawk’s Gunning Club, and Red Lion Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #649. He served in the US Marine Corps in WWII. Mr. Miller's greatest joy was spending time with his loving family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller leaves two sons, Ricky R. Miller of Australia and Mark W. Miller and his wife Susan of Dover; a daughter, Debra L. Knokey and her husband Jeffrey of Red Lion; six grandchildren, Mark Waltemyer and his wife Amy, Ryan Waltemyer, Tara Waltemyer Burke, Luke and John Miller and Annie Ruth Miller; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Lydia, Kylee and Zander.
