William A. Stezelberger

WELLSBORO, PA- William A. Stezelberger, 71, of Amity Harbor, NY, died on July 2, 2009 at the Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Mary Laraia-Stezelberger of Amity Harbor and father to Christopher Stezelberger of Atlanta, GA and Audra Cohen of Antigua, West Indies. Bill was born May 11, 1938 in Bay Shore, NY, the son of the late William and Agatha (Vollmer) Stezelberger. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and after was a Suffolk County Police officer for over 30 years, retiring from the force in 1991. Bill belonged to the Captree Power Squadron, the Amityville Yacht Club, the New York Retired Police Association, the International Police Association, and the Police Benevolence Society. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM and again from 7:00-9:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Massapequa Funeral Home, Inc. South Chapel, 4980 Merrick Road Massapequa Park, New York. Local arrangements are through the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA.
