William A. Bonchack

Pottsville- William A. Bonchack, 56, of Pottsville, passed away Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Born in Pottsville on November 1, 1952, he was a son of the late Michael and Dorothy Harris Bonchack. Bill attended Milton S. Hershey School for boys. He was a 1971 graduate Pottsville High 1971. He was a Sergeant in the Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Bill worked for 7 Up in Pottsville for 10 years. He most recently was employed by Honeywell, Mar-Lin, where he worked for 18 years until he became ill. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. He was a coach for the Pottsville Youth Soccer Association and a Boy Scout Leader. He was a man of many interests who loved Life and People. Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Frances A. Leonhardt Bonchack, Pottsville; his son Robert Bonchack, of Orwigsburg; his four sisters, Mary Glore, wife of the late George Glore, of Pottsville, Peggy Gretsky, of West West Terrace, Dorothy Grimes, wife of Terry, of North Belton, SC and Joan Goiburn, wife of Nick, of Fresno, CA; his two brothers, Robert Bonchack, husband of Lynda, of North Canton, OH and Kenneth Bonchack, husband of Paige, of Knoxville, TN; his Godson, Neil Donnelly-Tosh; his three sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Tkach, wife of Tom, Martina Minnig, wife of Jack and Monica Natishak, wife of Joe, all of Pottsville; his brother-in-law, Harry Leonhardt, Encinitis, CA; Cousins; nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church, 4th & Mahantongo Sts., Pottsville. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Private interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In memory of Bill, the family requests giving the "Gift of Life" through donations to your local blood bank. This gift has helped sustain Bill's life over the past three years.
