Red Lion - Wilbur L. "Merf" Nace, 83, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital. He was the husband of Leola C. (Smith) MillerNace, to whom he was married 37 years, and the late Phyllis M. (Bixler) Nace. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach, of Bethlehem (Stonepile) United Methodist Church in Red Lion, officiating. Burial will be in Heiland View Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Nace was born March 19, 1923, in Windsor, a son of the late George H. and Florence M. (Olp) Nace. He was employed with Columbia Gas for 47 years as a Serviceman. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II who served in South Pacific, he was also a life member of Red Lion V.F.W., and a member of the Dallastown American Legion, Yorkana Game and Gun Club, Odd Fellows Lodge, and Good Sam's Camping Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Nace is survived by two daughters, Audrey J. Edwards of Red Lion, and Brenda E. Godfrey and her husband, Ray of Red Lion; three sons, Dennis L. Nace, Sr. and his wife, Catherine of York, Ray A. Nace and his wife, Sandi of Glendale, Ariz., and Mark K. Nace and his wife, Wanda of Red Lion; 10 grandchildren, Kira, Jan, Jack, Kelly, Amy, Sean, Dennis, Jr., Laura, Justin, and Wyatt; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Haugh of Lucky and Kathryn Orner of Riverview, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, George "Sonny", and Millard "Pat" Nace; and two sisters, Beulah Koontz and Myrtus "Sis" Geist. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., Memorial Fulfillment Center, 777 Penn Center Blvd, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235; or the charity of your choice.
