Wilbur I. Minnich Jr.

YORK--Wilbur I. Minnich Jr., 71, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his residence in York City. He was the husband of Cherie L. (Fleming) Minnich to whom he was married for 50 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday July 25, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Certified Celebrant Allison R. Duke. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Born January 23, 1953 in Chester, he was the son of the late Wilbur I. Minnich Sr., and Jean (Landis) Minnich. He was a 1970 graduate of York County Vocational Technical School.

He started his career with Packless Metal Hose and after a short time, he began 30 plus year employment with Precision Components Corp where he worked as a rigger and made many lifelong friends.

A United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, he enjoyed golfing with his son and brother, often reminding them of his hole in one. He spent many years hunting and fishing with his father-in-law, Pete Fleming, was a life long Seattle Seahawks fan and enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffett, Stevie Nicks and Eric Clapton. However, what he cherished the most was spending time with and vacationing at the beach with his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Minnich is also survived by one son, Shawn M. Minnich and wife, Sara of York; one daughter, Tara A. Scott and her husband, Tamar of York; four grandchildren, Amouri N. Baker, Tai A. Maxfield, Tahlia K. F. Scott and Sebastian Malone; one brother, Todd E. Minnich and one niece and one nephew.
