RED LION – Wilbur E. “Wib” Forry, Jr., 84, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara G. (Bechtold) Forry with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage on October 25, 2022. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Evelyn L. (Blouse) Forry to whom he was married for 36 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion with Rev. Joshua Wargo and Jonathan L. Bausman officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 30, 1938 in Windsor, a son of the late Dorothy M. (Gohn) and Wilbur E. Forry, Sr.; he was a 1956 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and then proudly served in the US Navy. Mr. Forry retired from York Graphic Services after 33 years of service. He was active with Red Lion Area Ambulance Association where he served as a Board Member and Treasurer for 25 years; was a member of West York VFW, Hawks Gunning Club, and Victory Athletic Assoc. Wilbur was also a member of St. Paul’s Chapel United Methodist Church where he served on Church council.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Forry is survived by a daughter, Sandra M. and husband John Fishel of Red Lion; a stepson, Zachary C. and wife Sonya Snyder of York; two grandsons, Brett R. and wife Abby Fishel and Dalton Fishel; two step grandsons, Alex C. and Max C. Snyder; a great grandson, Carter Fishel; a sister, Nancy L. Shenberger of Red Lion; and two nephews, Scott and Robin Shenberger. He was preceded in death by a niece, Crystal Shenberger.
