Weldon E. Poff

RED LION – Weldon E. Poff, 94, passed away Friday, July 6, 2024 at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Phyllis (Saylor) Poff, to whom he was married for 68 years.


Born January 6, 1930 in Craley, he was a son of the late Earl and Marian L. (Morton) Poff. Shortly after high school, Mr. Poff joined the United States Army where he served our country during the Korean War. During the war, he received a Good Conduct Medal and an Army of Occupation of Germany Medal. After his service, he worked as an accountant at McKay and then Molycorp.


Weldon was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Red Lion. He was also a long-time member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, and the Shriners.


In his free time, Weldon loved gardening, history, and genealogy. He enjoyed spending hours going through old records to build an extensive record of the family lineages.


In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is also survived by their daughter Wendy S. Dellinger of York. Also, a brother, D. Eugene Poff and his wife Rae also of York and a niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Joel Poff.


Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
