Warren D. Anderson

YORK - Warren D. Anderson, 90, of North Codorus Twp., died at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Geraldine M. (Jensen) Anderson who died June 16, 1995. The couple had been married for 49 years at the time of Mrs. Anderson's passing. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Burial will be at St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Mr. Anderson was born December 16, 1919, in York. He was the son of the late Charles and Jane R. (Reichard) Anderson. He was an Inspector for the United States government until his retirement in 1986 and was responsible for evaluating precision equipment at companies like Voith Hydro, Bowen McGlaughlin and Allis Chalmers. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant with anti aircraft and coastal artillery infantry units. He enjoyed breeding thoroughbred horses and was a member of the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association. He was also a former Drum Major with the White Rose Senior Drum & Bugle Corps. Mr. Anderson is survived by two sons, Barry L. Anderson of Ranson, WV and Roger P. Anderson of York; two grandchildren, Kim Tangler and Zachary Anderson; and two great grandchildren, Zane and Sage Tangler. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melanie Anderson.
