AUSTINVILLE-Ward Duane Kittle of Columbia Cross Roads, PA passed away peacefully at home following declining health. Duane was born at home in Granville Twp., PA July 9, 1930, the son of the late Willis Ward Kittle and Lois (Freelove) Kittle. He was a graduate of Troy High School Class of 1949 and in early years farmed in the Granville and Leona areas. He was later employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. For 40 years he owned and operated his own backhoe business. Duane was a member of the Austinville Union Church and the Sylvania Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Frederickson) Roloson Kittle at home; two daughters, Patricia (Everett) Cook of Rome, PA and Laura Kittle; one step-daughter, Nancy (Patrick) Savage of Lykens, PA; and two step-sons, Glenn (Pamela) Roloson of Osseo, WI and Richard (Rosemary Wynott) Roloson of Troy, PA; grandchildren, Kandi Cook and (friend Dean Kundrata) of Apalachin, NY, Holli (Leon) Mosier of Ulster, PA, Traci (Robert) Chatterton of Windsor, NY; step-grandchildren, Timothy (Nicole) Savage of Lykens, PA, Jennifer (David) Williams of Pine Grove Mills, PA, Rebecca Savage of Coatesville, PA, Keven Savage of Lykens, PA, Kristian (fianc, Dick Parr) Roloson of Eau Clair, WI, Anna Roloson of Osseo, WI, Klarissa Roloson, US Army, stationed in Hawaii, Erik Roloson of Troy, PA, Dane Roloson (fiance, Kelly VanNote) of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; and seven great-grandchildren; Aubri and Allison Mosier of Ulster, PA, Ava and Eoghan Savage of Lykens, PA, Lilyana, Sarah and Noah Williams, all of Pine Grove Mills, PA; his brothers Willis Kittle and partner Donna Baker of Mansfield, PA, Leland (Sara) Kittle of Waterville, ME, Harry (Sarah) Kittle of Lawrenceville, PA, Gary (Sue) Kittle of Burlington, PA, and sister Wilma Young of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; brothers-in-law; Richard (Hortensia) Frederickson of Castellon, Spain, Andrew (Donna) Lane of Nickolson, PA; Sisters-in-law Jane (Michael) Wiernusz, Mary Lane, Nancy Lane all of Tunkhannock, PA, and Anne Kittle of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. In addition to his parents Duane was pre-deceased by his first wife, Elma Lane Kittle, who passed away in 1977 a son, James Kittle, who passed away 1965 a brother, Donald Kittle, brothers-in-law Ernest Young, Robert Lane, Vernon Lane, Steven Lane and Everett Lane; a sisters-in-law Catherine Kittle and Louise Gray. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Austinville Union Church, Austinville, PA. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on December 23rd at the church with his pastor, Rev. Kenneth Marple, officiating. Burial will follow the service in Sylvan Hill Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Austinville Union Church, Sylvania Lions or Guthrie Hospice.
