Wandra Moton

WILKES-BARRE-Wandra Rita Moton was born September 24, 1949 to the late Leroy 'Buddy' Moton and Virgus Mary Russell in Baltimore Maryland. In later years, the family relocated to Far Rockaway, NY. While in Far Rockaway, she received her formal education in the New York City Public School System and became the product of John Adams High School. Soon after she went on to begin a career with the New York telephone company where she held a number of positions. In July, 2006, Wandra relocated to Wilkes-Barre, PA., where she gained employment at Kraft Foods, and became acclimated to the Wilkes-Barre area through her various employment opportunities. Ultimately, she began working in Home Depot, which she enjoyed the most. In 2007, she was among the first group of 20 family members, who accepted Christ as their Savior. They were baptized & joined Mt. Zion Baptist church. Under the leadership of Reverend Michael E. Brewster she served as an usher and faithful member who truly loved the Lord as well as her church family. Her most cherished blessings were her 3 children Kerry Moton, Danielle Moton, & Denzel Moton whom she dedicated herself with her whole heart. Wandra loved and lived life, she was often referred to as the life of the party. She was a very caring and giving individual who would converse with whomever she came into contact with, no one was a stranger to her. She spent most of her leisure time with her family where she was commonly known as Aunt Rita, Rita Pita or as her favorite little people would call her Aunt Pootang. Wandra departed her earthly walk of life on Saturday July 6th, 2013 at the age of 63. She leaves to treasure her memory: Her Children - Kerry L. Moton, Danielle J. Moton, and Denzel H. Moton; Siblings - Tyrone Robinson, Michael Robinson, James Holcombe, Derrick Haulcombe, Reginald Haulcombe, and Robin Haulcombe; Sister In Laws - Wendy Robinson and Lorraine Biggs; Goddaughter - Aniyah Taylor; Niece/Daughter - Courtney Haulcombe; and a host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends. In her departure Wandra would like all of you to know that though she has left us temporarily she will 'see ya around like a donut.' Services will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held Friday in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
