Wanda L. (Romich) Buttrey

YORK- Wanda L. (Romich) Buttrey, 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at York Hospital. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, 3920 East Prospect Rd in York. Pastor Steve Warner will officiate. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on December 26, 1940 in York, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Margaret (Miller) Romich. She was one of the Romich triplets, known to be the first triplets born in York. Mrs Buttrey was the office manager at Mt. Wolf Medical Center from 1990 until her retirement in 2015. Following retirement, she worked part time at CareerLink helping others find job opportunities. Mrs. Buttrey was a member of Grace Baptist Church. In her pastime, she enjoyed reading, caring for her pets, and many sport activities including hiking and going to the YMCA. She was a kind and generous person, and a good listener who always put others first. As a lifetime learner, she was constantly interested in new things. Mrs. Buttrey is survived by her son, Richard Buttrey of San Jose, CA; daughter, Sherri Dennis and husband, Steve of Harwood, MD, and sister Brenda Troup of Manchester, PA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews including Monique V. Moreno whom she shared a special bond since birth. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Theola Waltimyer and Leona A. Peterson; and her great aunt Lottie V. Miller who was highly influential in the direction of her life.
