Wanda Ann Klaips

KINGSTON-Wanda Ann Klaips, 95, of Kingston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2007. She was born June 11, 1911 in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Theophilius and Monica Kuznitska Klaips, and has been a resident of Kingston for the past 72 years, except for the brief time she was a guest at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. She was christened at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church, Kingston. She was the last survivor of six brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by sisters Helen, Victoria and Phyllis and brothers Joseph, Leo and Raymond. She leaves to celebrate her life and memory her loving son, David George Klaips, his wife Sally Ann and grandchild Matthew David, all of Kingston. Her two loves in life were her family and garden. Her favorite roses were the "John F. Kennedy" and "Peace". Her activities included sewing, quilting, knitting and fall home canning. The colorful quilts are enjoyed by family still today. She was a Senior Volunteer at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital for many years, and enjoyed helping those in need. Her favorite readings were found in the Biblija Swieta. The family wishes to thank George M. DeCurtis, M.D. and all at the Riverstreet Manor, especially Nursing Station 2 staff for caring throughout her extended illness. She and the family were overwhelmed and very grateful for the support. She left us knowing how much she was loved by all. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family, with interment in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Wyoming. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
