WARMINSTER- Walter T. "Tom" Keesey, 81, of Warminster, died Saturday, September 15, 2007. He was the husband of Jean E. (Moss) Keesey. A Celebration of Life service will be 2pm Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Hopewell United Presbyterian Church, 8426 Church Rd., Felton, PA 17322 with the Elder Dale Keesey officiating. Burial is private. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is handling the arrangements. Born March 26, 1926 in Martinsburg, WV, a son of the late Jacob R. Lemon and Myra (Grove) Keesey. He attended Forest Park High School in Baltimore, where he attended an accelerated course to allow him to graduate before joining the US Navy. Mr. Keesey is a WWII veteran, having served on the USS Eager AM-244, Manley DD-74, and Sarsfield DD-837. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1950, where he met his wife, Jean E. Moss, whom he married in Silver Spring, MD in 1951. After college, Mr. Keesey taught high school for a year in Baltimore Co., MD, before joining Bendix Radio and later Bendix Field Engineering Corp. He was contracted with NASA to support the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. In 1982 he retired in Orlando, FL and later moved to York, PA. Mr. Keesey was active with Stewartstown Lions Club, winning the Lion of the Year award in 1999 and was made a Melvin Jones Fellow in 2005. Surviving Mr. Keesey are his two sons, Donald R.(Dolores) Kessey of San Diego, CA and Wayne T. (Marilyn) Keesey of Laurel, MD; a granddaughter, Dara J. Keesey; a sister, Virginia (Charles) Hayword of Charlottesville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him are three brothers, Harold, Charles, and Robert Keesey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stewartstown Lions Club, P.O. Box 404, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
