Walter Proctor Mott, Jr.

RED LION - Walter Proctor Mott, Jr., 86, died on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services, Dallastown. He was the husband of Nellie Grace (Bennett) Mott. The couple wed on August 15, 1994. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with his pastor, the Reverend Paul N. Frank officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Born on December 15, 1926 in Wheeling, W.V. he was the son of the late Walter P. and Alberta L. (Mehen) Mott, Sr. Walter owned and operated Mott Awning Co. in York for a number of years. Mr. Mott served our country in the United States Army for two years during WWII. Mr. Mott was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville. He was an avid golfer and loved watching WVU football. Walter also enjoyed playing games with his wife and grandchildren, especially cards and dominos. Along with his wife, Nellie, Walter is survived by one daughter, Andrea M. Aldstadt and her husband, Tom of Winchester, VA; three step sons, David Burke and his wife, Debra of Red Lion, Todd Burke and his companion Brian Hoffmeister of San Mateo, CA and Tim Burke and his wife, Terri of Marysville, TN; one step daughter, Cindy Einsig and her husband, Barry of Red Lion; and two grandchildren, Laura and Danny Aldstadt.
