Walter K. Cullen Walter K. Cullen, 78, of Pottsville, passed away Monday at his residence. Born in Pottsville on July 23, 1929 he was the son of the late Herbert and Myrtle Mason Cullen. He was a graduate of Port Carbon High School. He retired from PPL in 1992 after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville; member of the PPL retirees club. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Laverne Cullen; his brother, Donald Cullen. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. McGoey Cullen, of Pottsville, to whom he would have married 56 years on July 19th; his son John "Jack" Cullen, husband of Jill, of Minersville; his two daughters, Marikay Cady, fiance' of Mark Itter, of Ovieda, FL, and Nancy Fidler, wife of Guy, of Orwigsburg; his five grandchildren, Emily Fidler, Ryan Cady, Alison, Mackenzie and Jason Cullen; a niece and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 A.M. from St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the Church. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to either: St. Patrick's Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901, or Covenant Home Care, c/o Hospice Unit, 1510 Highway 61 South, Pottsville, PA 17901.
