Walter H. Smith

SHREWSBERRY- Walter H. Smith, 72, died on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sandra J. (Watson) Smith to whom he was married for 54 years. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith was born on November 10, 1936 in Taylor, PA, a son of the late George and Jeanette (Morris) Smith. He attended Girard College in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business & Finance. Walter worked as a sales representative in the U.S. as well as overseas for most of his career. He was a member of Maryland Line Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons #579. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during peacetime years. Along with his wife, Walter is survived by two sons, Douglas G. and his wife Merril of National Park, NJ and Curtis J. and his wife Michele of Hershey, PA; three grandchildren; and a brother, John W.H.
