Walter H. Peters

DANVILLE - Walter H. Peters, 79, of Vine St., passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville. Walter was born on October 13, 1931 in Danville and was the son of the late Walter H. and Grace (Burgard) Peters. He was a 1951 graduate of Danville High School and then served in the US Airforce, stationed in Texas. Walter was previously employed at Kennedy Van Saun & Merck. He retired from Kawneer after 25 years service. He had also worked for the Thad S. Vincent Funeral Home for many years. Walt was a retired member of the Danville Ambulance Service, a member of the Goodwill Hose Co., South Side Fire Co. and served as president of the Friendship Fire Co. He was a life member of the Elks and American Legion. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Patricia L. Pat (Pritchard) of Danville, two sons and daughters-in-law; Walter H. and Joanne Peters, III of Danville and Patrick P. and Heather Peters of Bloomsburg, one daughter and son-in-law; Kim E. and Bill Nuss of Danville, five grandchildren; Christopher Peters, Jason Nuss, Adam Nuss, Jordan Peters and Justin Peters, one sister; Jean Conner of Cary, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son; Jeffrey Lee Jeff Peters who went to God, April 20, 2010 and two sisters; Lois Hirleman and Catherine Walker. There will be a public viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton with the funeral beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Reverend Jill V. Seagle will officiate the services. Burial will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at the familys convenience.
