Walter F. Reedy

POTTSVILLE -Walter F. Reedy, 81, of Pottsville, died Saturday morning at the Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Trevorton, on June 2, 1928, he the son of the late LeRoy R. and Mabel Schwartz Reedy. He was a graduate of Branch Township High School. Until retiring he was employed by Higgins Mining, and prior to that he was employed for the Steins Mill Breaker. Walter was a member of the Friedens Lutheran Church, Llewellyn, were he was active in the many of the church functions. He was also an avid baseball player. Surviving Walter are: his sister, Betty Jane Direnzo, Pottsville; a niece, Danelle Lazarchick, Wyomissing; a nephew, Patrick Direnzo, Pottsville; and two great nephews, Jon and Ian Lazarchick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 3, from the Friedens Lutheran Church, 54 Church Rd., Llewellyn, at 10 AM. Family and friends may call at the church from 9 until time of service. Pastor Robert Reier will officiate. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Friedens Lutheran Church, PO Box 248, Llewellyn, PA 17944.
