Walter E. Laughman

MYRTLE BEACH, SC Walter E. Laughman, 72, formerly of York, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was the husband of Joann (Beatty) Laughman with whom he celebrated a 51st wedding anniversary on June 11th. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the West York Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2601 Bannister St., York with Elder Bruce Kovalchick officiating. A visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall. Private burial will be at Mummert’s Meeting House Cemetery, East Berlin. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Laughman was born March 14, 1940, in Hanover. He was the son of Ruth I. (Baker) Laughman of Hanover and the late Walter J. Laughman. He was a 1959 graduate of New Oxford High School and was a member of the West York congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He retired in 1995 as a truck driver with L & H Trucking in Hanover. In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Laughman leaves one son, Brooks E. Laughman of York; five daughters, Michele L. Johnson of York, Tammy L. Pearce of Whitehall, MD, Crystal A. Laughman of York, Rabecca S. Laughman of Baltimore and Malinda N. Cline of Tallahassee, FL; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; six brothers, Kenneth Laughman of York, Ronald Laughman, James Laughman, Wayne Laughman, Larry Laughman and Jerry Laughman, all of Hanover; and three sisters, Gloria Spangler of East Berlin, Cindy Garcia and Deborah Landeverve, both of Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2601 Bannister St., York, PA 17408.
