RED LION- Walter D. Shoff, 83, passed away suddenly Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services-South in York. He was the husband of the late Gloria P. (Mitzel) Shoff. A Graveside service will be 10 am on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. The Reverend Thomas R. Osenbach will be officiating at the service. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Shoff was born in Lower Chanceford Twp. on April 20, 1927, a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Smith) Shoff. He retired as a Truck Driver for Anchor Motor Freight, Inc. in York He was a former member of the Sportsman Farm in Lancaster County. Mr. Shoff leaves three sons, Leroy E. Shoff, and Donald A. "Shorty" Shoff, both of York, and Barry M. Shoff of Wrightsville; three daughters, Maxine D. Taglieri, Brenda M. Howard, and Rosalie A. Scantling, all of Wrightsville; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Junior Shoff of York; and two sisters, Helen McCallister of Airville and Charmine Shoff of York. A daughter, Janet A. Brunner had preceded him in death.
