WILLIAMSPORT - Walter B. "Walt" Wilson, 59, formerly of Philadelphia, died on Wednesday, January 03, 2007 at his residence. He was born on September 09, 1947 in Philadelphia. He was a son of the late Walter Lee and Nora (Campbell) Wilson. He was a graduate of BOK High School, Philadelphia, Class of 1964. He was a veteran of the US Army as a paratrooper during the Vietnam Era. He was a proud member of Local 542 Operating Engineers as a crane operator and retired in the 1990's and was also a former police officer in Philadelphia. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Williamsport, NA Fellowship, and bought a guitar to learn how to play it. Walt is survived by four sons; Brian, Walter, Aquil and Rontae Wilson, all of Philadelphia, two daughters; Nora Taylor and Dorene Wilson, both of Philadelphia, one brother; Phillip L. Wilson of Williamsport, one nephew; Phillip "Chip" Wilson of Philadelphia and fiancee'; Valarie Wansley of Williamsport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Doreen Wilson. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 527 Park Avenue, Williamsport with the Reverend Charles V. Daniels officiating the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. There will be a public viewing at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday. Arrangements are by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport. -
