WRIGHTSVILLE-Walter A. Haugh, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Velma M. (Saylor) Haugh. The couple would have celebrated 61 years together on December 24, 2010. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, Ersel D. Staples officiating. Viewings will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Salem Community Cemetery. Mr. Haugh was born March 23, 1928 in York, a son of the late Clark S. and Pearl J. (Kise) Haugh. He was a former employee of Guy Hobbs Furniture, Teledyne McKay and Recycle America. He attended the Lancaster School of the Bible where he became a certified Lay Leader. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Windsor, where he taught Sunday school and would occasionally give sermons when his pastor was unavailable. Mr. Haugh enjoyed going to Hymn Sings; traveling with his wife to various locations in the U.S. and Canada; bowling; deer hunting; and being an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.In addition to his wife, Mr. Haugh is survived by two daughters, Brenda M. Rollman and husband, Wayne and Theda F. Cooper and husband, Gary N. all of Wrightsville; four grandchildren, Tonya S. Janis, Steve A. Cooper, Redina M. Ebersole, and Dwayne L. Rollman; four great grandchildren; and one step great grandchild; two sisters, Hester V. Speakman of Oxford, PA, and Elsie E. Robinson of Brogue; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Nelson, and Emory Haugh; and two sisters, Edith M. Keller and Lucy I. Dunlap.
