W. David Hunt

YORK - W. David Hunt, 53, died Monday, September 1, 2008 at his home after a six month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Jayne K. (Meisenhelder) Hunt. The couple was married on September 1st, 24 years ago. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Saturday, at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Born September 8, 1954, in Champagne, IL, the son of the late Chester Hunt and Jean (Clifton) Griffis of San Jose, Ca. Mr. Hunt graduated from Manitou Springs High School in CO. and received an Associate's Degree in Machine Technology from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. He was employed by Graham Engineering and was a former employee of Stewart & Tate Inc. Mr. Hunt enjoyed restoring classic cars; working with mechanical devices; worldwide travel, watching the San Francisco 49ers; working for peace and going on vacation with his friends and family. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hunt is survived by two daughters, Tara Jean Hunt of York and Jessica Hurtado of 29 Palms, CA., 4 grandchildren residing in CA, three sisters, Diane Hunt of Los Gatos, CA., Karen Hunt of Huston, TX., and Nancy Hunt of Portland, OR.; a father-in-law, Gerry Meisenhelder and wife Pauline of York; and a mother-in-law, Mildred Meisenhelder of Nashville, TN.
