W. Bradley McKinsey, 70, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Marcindie A. (Robinson) McKinsey to whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on July 8, 2018. Viewings will be held from 5-7:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. John’s Blymire’s United Church of Christ, 1009 Blymire Road, Dallastown and from 2-3:00 PM SUNDAY, April 29th with a Celebration of Life Tribute Service to follow at 3:00 PM SUNDAY with his pastor, The Rev. Lou Ann Jones officiating. Burial will be in Blymire’s UCC Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born November 6, 1947 in Dallastown a son of the late Paul and Margaret (Rost) McKinsey, he was a 1967 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. A mechanic by trade, Mr. McKinsey began his career at Sterner Chevrolet and then was a road supervisor with Mason-Dixon Truck Lines; all while working nights at River’s Garage in Dallastown. In 1976, Brad purchased River’s and begun the transformation of a small repair shop into Central PA’s “one-stop-shop” for heavy duty trucking needs. In his 42 years as principal and owner of River’s Truck Center, Inc., his vision, tireless work effort and love of being around the shop allowed him to build the business to what it is today. He was an active member of St. John’s Blymire’s UCC where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of Red Lion F&AM Lodge, Hawks Gunning Club, Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Drag Racing Assoc. and Red Lion VFW. Brad loved doting on his grandchildren, racing, riding motorcycles, camping and always having his family nearby. In addition to his wife, Mr. McKinsey is survived by a daughter, Jenna and husband Ryan Woerner of Red Lion; a son, Judd McKinsey and companion Christina Lutz of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Allie McKinsey, DeLaney Woerner, Macklin Woerner and Aubrey McKinsey; a sister-in-law, Anna McKinsey of York; several nieces, nephews and very dear friends who were very close to Brad; his German Shepherd “Gunnar”; and his grand doggies, “Tucker” and “Cooper”. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Charles, James and P. Edwin McKinsey, Joan Clarkson and Vernon McKinsey. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Blymire’s UCC, 1009 Blymire Rd., Dallastown, PA 17313.
