Vyonne W. (Warfel) Stephenson

York—Vyonne W. (Warfel) Stephenson, 94, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Country Meadows of York-West. She was the wife of the late Glen L. Stephenson. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4768 Union Deposit Rd, Harrisburg with her pastor, the Rev. M. Robert Green officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM, at the church. Burial will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Born December 28, 1922 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Etta (McNeil) Warfel. She was employed as an executive assistant with AMP for 25 years until her retirement. Formerly a member of Grace Lutheran and Calvary Lutheran Church, she was a founding member of Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church. Always very active in several church organizations/committees, she also never missed a Sunday playing the organ. She was a docent at John Harris Mansion, a member of the AMP Retiree Assoc., and enjoyed attending the Harrisburg Symphony. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and church family. Mrs. Stephenson is survived by a grandson, Richard W. Bray and his wife, Brooke of Dover; two grandchildren, Dane Kaster and Alyssa Bray; one brother, Franklin Warfel of Camp Hill and a niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen E. Bray and a sister, Phyllis Waite.
