YORK – Vivian M. (Jumper) Drescher, 81, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of the late Fred C. Drescher. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant, Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 12-1:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born January 9, 1931 in Newville, Cumberland Co.; a daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Yingling) Jumper, she was a 1949 graduate of William Penn High School. Mrs. Drescher had worked a few years at the former AMF, Inc. and was a longtime employee and volunteer at Access-York, where she received the United Way Adult Volunteer Award in 2002. Throughout her life Vivian was a dedicated volunteer who served as a group leader for a local Girl Scout troop and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was also active with the York High ‘49’ers Club and the Met Ed Retiree Club. Mrs. Drescher is survived by a daughter, Linda S. and husband James Raffensberger of York; a son, Michael S. Drescher of Leesport, PA; three grandchildren, Jenna Raffensberger, and Anna and Kevin Drescher; a brother, Robert Jumper of Mechanicsburg; and a sister, Sandra Sipe of Dover. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jumper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Vivian to Access-York, 633 S. George Street, York, PA 17401.
