Vivian A. Michal

YORK – Vivian A. (Kauffman) Michal, 97, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of John H. Michal, Jr. to whom she was married for 75 years. Mrs. Michal was born on March 29, 1924 in Hellam, a daughter of the late Chauncey B. and Elsie I. (Bruaw) Kauffman. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jane M. and husband Peter E. Piepmeier of York and Judy A. and husband Ed Heiner of York New Salem; four grandchildren, Julie and husband Jack Grove, Katie and husband Dustin Sechrist, Ed and wife Reghan Heiner, Jimmy and wife Amanda Heiner; eight great grandchildren, Hanna and Emma Grove, Dylan and Kolby Sechrist, Duke and Porter Heiner, Addie and J. J. Heiner and a sister, Irene Drawbaugh of Hellam. Vivian was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Throne and Charmeine Lesh; and a brother, Donald E.
