DURYEA-Vito Domnick Minella, 82, of Duryea, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Born in Old Forge on September 16, 1930, he was a son of the late Domnick and Kate (Sabetta) Minella. He was a 1948 graduate of Old Forge High School. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. Vito attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of West Pittston. He previously served as a treasurer and deacon at Moosic Assembly of God; a deacon at Trinity Congregational Church, Scranton and a deacon at Calvary Temple Church, Taylor. Prior to retiring, he was employed as an inspector at General Motors, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Margaret Cramer and sisters Virginia Jean Moreiko and Irene Fleming. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Henn Minella; his daughter, Gina Matushin, Florida; sons Domnick Minella and Joseph Minella, both of Florida; stepson Jeffrey Henn, Thompson, PA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Angeline Spence, Old Forge and Louise Russo, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday at noon at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of West Pittston, 317 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. Officiating will be Pastor Don Strope of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of West Pittston and Assistant Pastor Jeremy Mullen of Trinity Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of West Pittston, 317 Luzerne Street, West Pittston, PA 18643 Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca.
