Virginia R. (Zinn) Stump

WEST YORK BORO- Virginia R. (Zinn) Stump, Absent from the body present with the Lord. Virginia died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, after a long illness with her husband of sixty plus years, Jerald R. Stump, by her side. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with her pastor, The Reverend Carlos A. Kelly officiating. Viewing will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Virginia was born in York, April 10, 1919 to Clara B. (Kocknour) Zinn and Harry F. Zinn Virginia graduated with top honors from William Penn in M. 1937. After graduation, she was employed at Densply for five years and also Home Furniture Company of York. In later years, she was a Receptionist for Rotary Club of York and a Secretary for J. Emory Seitz at York Rotary Club. During her employment she was honored by receiving a Paul Harris Fellow Life Award. Virginia was saved as a teenager at York Gospel Center on Pine Street. She joined St. Paul E. C. Church, 450 W. King Street, where she taught a young ladies class (True Blue) for forty years and also sang in the Adult Choir. During WWII she edited a newsletter for young men and women serving our country. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Anna L. Zinn and Irene White preceded her in death.
