Virginia R. (Weidenbach) Heckert

YORK- Virginia R. Ginny (Weidenbach) Heckert, 89, died on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Manor Care- Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late J. Lynford Linnie Heckert. The couple had been married for 49 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Heckert was born on September 15, 1921, a daughter of the late Powell F. and Hazel (Campbell) Weidenbach. Virginia worked for the American Chain & Cable Co. and later as a secretary for Caterpillar. Mrs. Heckert was a 1938 Graduate of William Penn Sr. High School. She was a member of AARP and volunteered for a number of years at York Hospital. Mrs. Heckert is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Renninger of York; two grandchildren, Kimberly Holtzapple of Mt. Wolf and Jonathan Renninger of Columbus, NJ; five great grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Holtzapple and Matthew, Megan and Lily Renninger; a sister, BoAnn Artz of Kennett Square, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
