Virginia R. (Glatfelter) Potts

YORK- Virginia Rae (Glatfelter) Potts, 79, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Potts, who died on July 2, 2006. The couple had been married for 50 years. Services for Mrs. Potts are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born on September 27, 1936 in York, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Virginia (Miller) Glatfelter. Virginia was a bank teller for York Bank for 11 years. Mrs. Potts was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Virginia was a member of the Red Hatters Club and loved to attend the events with her friends. She loved to visit her grandchildren and attend their activities, near or far. Always on the go, you could find Virginia at a Central York Girls' basketball game, gymnastics meet, marching band performance, or visiting Maryland and Whidbey Island, WA. Known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren and their friends, she was always the life of the activity, party or event. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren, Bobby and Clete. Mrs. Potts is survived by her son, Sean Potts and his wife, Mary Jo of York; daughter, Robin Myers and her husband, Vance of Spring Grove; four grandchildren, Cassady Potts, Hannah Potts, Candie Rodgers and her husband, Matt and Carly Rae Heasley and her husband, Bryan; two great grandchildren, Clete Rodgers and Bobby Rodgers; three brothers, Bob Glatfelter and his wife, Sandra of Dayton, TX, Dave Glatfelter and his wife, Linda of Nevada and Chris Glatfelter and his wife, Marge of York; and several nieces and nephews.
